Dylan Taylor

Dylan Taylor was born in Atlanta, GA. She got her first guitar when she was 7 and started taking classical guitar lessons from John Johns, a professor at Blair School of Music in Nashville, TN. Mentored by her father, an accomplished professional guitarist and songwriter, she started writing songs at age 11 and soon began performing at local night clubs. "I got my first gig at a place called Murphy's Loft, in Nashville, as a guest performer. I was invited by an amazing musician named Sabrina, who is also a part of a group called The No Hit Wonders." Since then she has been a regular performer at well known venues including 12th and Porter, Blue Bar, Hotel Indigo, Listening Room, The Bluebird Café, Douglas Corner.

Now at 19, Dylan is a full time professional artist and writer. Though her influences cross a wide range of artists from James Taylor, John Prine, and The Beatles to Patty Griffin, Hank Williams, Gillian Welch, and Michael Jackson, her writing style is distinctly her own. Dylan's songs come from her personal stories and experiences. Dylan says, "Music has always played a huge role in my life. I've been singing since I could talk and it has always been my love. Even if I have to live in a bus and play for tips for the rest of my life, I don't see myself giving up on music."
